There is so much I love about the story with these two.
First of all, they contacted me about one month out--they were driving from Oklahoma, and planning to elope at Sapphire Point. Would I be willing to photograph it?
Absolutely.
Second of all, I randomly saw them at the Clerk's office the day before, as they were getting their marriage license--having never met them before, I recognized their faces from Facebook. It was fun getting to meet them ahead of time, and such a cool, random coincidence!
Third, the weather was terrible. Lol.
I had offered for them to do their vows and photos on a different day--but who wants to do that!? The day you choose to get married is special, and has meaning! So, of course, they went for it in the rain.
We got rained on the entire time, and in their photos, their suits are covered. But it's a part of their story. And it's so beautiful!
Rain is good luck on your wedding day, and I wish nothing but the absolute best to them!!
Congrats, Patrick + Pepe. Thank you so, so much for asking me to be there to document your special day.
xoxo

waiting on baby | Breckenridge maternity photographer
When Lauren contacted me about her first pregnancy, she made it very clear that she wanted to document her body during this stage in her life--nothing too sexy or risqué, and nothing too cliche or overly-maternity.
Just...simple.
So I came to her home and we used plain walls for backdrops. The guest bedroom for a pop of color. And toward the end, her husband stepped in for a photo or two.
It was so perfect, and we had such a great time!
Thanks, Lauren. I hope you love your images.

I haven't done a lot of advertising for the high school senior market, but my business has started to grow in that area, recently.
And honestly? I am loving it.
Seniors used to intimidate me. But I've quickly learned that if you just let them be themselves, and you encourage their own self-expression, you really can't go wrong.
Lexi is a young lady I have photographed before, during her family photos. When her mom contacted me again, I was thrilled! She was so fun to hang out with, and of course--the camera doesn't hate those freckles and blue eyes. :)
Thanks again, Danielle!! Congrats to your girl; you've done so well, mama!!

As a mother of two with a masters degree and a law degree, I find a lot of value in education.
I often tell others, if I wasn't so busy working two full-time jobs, I would love to home-school my children; however, I am just not afforded that possibility. Because of that, I put a lot of value in today's teachers and am so, so grateful when my children have really great ones.
This past year, both my kids' teachers were worth their weight in gold.
Charlotte's Kindergarten teacher really helped to foster a solid foundation for her, helping her to really love school and--eventually--really love reading. Thanks to Ms. Fletcher, my daughter is excited about her time in first grade, and is so eager to learn more and more. I love watching her excitement and eagerness to learn more, and I pray that her good teacher streak continues.
As a thank you to both teachers, I gifted them with family photos to use any time they were ready.
Kelley cashed in a few weeks ago, and it was so nice to spend time with her family and get to know her a little more outside of the classroom. She is a great mom with two really fantastic and cute kids, and I was honored to take this time out for her, to show my appreciation.
Thanks again, Kelley! I hope you love the images.

And of course, Charlotte had to jump in for a photo with her. :)

During my last visit to Michigan, I limited myself to just four mini sessions because I really wanted to focus (1) on offering the best light possible to all families, and (2) on spending quality time with friends who I rarely get to see for more than a few hours at a time when I visit, because I am always so. stinking. busy.
The trip was seriously perfect.
And long before I took Jodie's family photos, I contacted her with my vision--would she be willing to dress herself (and her family) in clothes that they would eventually get wet? I was drawing inspiration from a shoot I had seen earlier, involving water, and I really wanted to get Jodie and her family in Lake Michigan!
As always, she and her family agreed and were total rockstars.
Seriously.
I love these people so much. I am so blessed that I get to photograph them every year!!
Thanks again, Chico + Jodie! I hope you love your images!
