My last family session in D.C. was so much fun! The girls ran around chasing one another, threw leaves in the air, and the family was just generally very laid back and chill. Those are always the best sessions. :)

Thanks again, Lauren! I hope you love them!

There was a lot of laughter during the making of this photo shoot. ;)

You've gotta love a family that says, "We aren't really into posed photos. Most of the prints on our walls are candids."

Well, you've come to the right place.

Thanks again you two! I had a great time!

The most challenging thing about D.C., each time I visit, is trying to decide whether I want to shoot photos in front of any of the national monuments...or not. Since I'm not from D.C., those photo-ops are one-of-a-kind. I never see the Lincoln Memorial. Or the Reflecting Pool.

But my clients do.

Every day. Lol.

So is it cool to them? Or is it too "touristy"?

This particular trip, I decided I wanted to go for it. So each of my family shoots started in front of the Reflecting Pool, and then we migrated to a small area with lots of trees...to give each shoot a more comfortable feel. As if this was their home, not just a place they were visiting for the weekend.

Anyways, I loved this particular shoot. I have photographed Rob + Emily for a couple of years now, and I consider it to be such an honor that they continue to ask me to travel all the way back each year for their annual photos.

Thanks again, you two! Hope you enjoy!

My trip to D.C. this past weekend was absolutely perfect!

We had a minor hiccup with rain on Saturday, but thankfully everyone was available to take their photos on Sunday. And just a little FYI--if you are willing, like Erica was, to suffer through the early wake-up call, your photos will have all of this gorgeous sun and light too. ;)

Thanks again, Erica! So lovely to have met you, and I look forward to working with you again some day!

When I knew I was going to be visiting San Diego for a few days, my friend, Susan, contacted me about a session she had in mind involving an old wedding dress. The shoot was going to take place very close to Halloween, so we wanted to go for something "dark"...

...I'd say we succeeded. ;)

This session was so much fun, in so many ways. First, it was outside of my normal bounds. I don't typically go swimming in stagnant water to take photos of a woman in a wedding dress with paint and fake blood. Lol. Second, having the chance to hang out with Susan is always a blast. I met some new friends that day as well (including another amazing boudoir photographer, Kelsey Daffern), and we ate some delicious freaking Mexican food when all was said and done.

It was a good day, indeed! Enjoy your photos, Susan. Love you, my friend!!
