2015 Boudoir Workshops Announced!

I've struggled for years in figuring out how I could wrap my love for teaching around what I know and have learned with photography. I do not claim to be the best photographer, by any means--but recently, I've had a lot of curious people wondering when I was going to start teaching how to shoot boudoir. So here I am.

Boudoir is going to be huge. I just know it.

More and more women are learning about it and, when it's done right, there is a high demand for photos like these.

So.

If you are interested in either (a) dabbling in boudoir just to see what it might be like, (b) growing your business and expanding your clientele, or (c) having a really good time with a bunch of like-minded photographers (and possibly some wine)...this is the perfect workshop for you.

Workshops will be hosted at a boutique hotel on the following dates and in the following cities:

June 13 (Saturday): Denver, Colorado
July 18 (Saturday): St. Louis, Missouri
August 22 (Saturday): Austin, Texas

If there is enough interest, I will also offer workshops on the following Sunday.

The itinerary will be the same in each city:

9am - 12pm: Models 1 & 2

12pm - 1pm: Lunch

1pm - 4pm: Models 3 & 4

4pm - 5pm: Wrap-up & Goodbye

Time with the models will include covering information on the following:

Posing (for every body type)

The use of natural light and the best times for scheduling

How to market your boudoir business

How to interact with clients and avoid the, erm, awkwardness

Outfit selection (what looks good, what looks great, & what should be left at home)

Post Processing (note that here, our discussion will be limited to what is provided in workshop handouts and guides)

The Cost: $700 ($300 non-refundable to secure your spot, remainder due 1 week prior to workshop)

Each workshop will be open to 3 photographers, and no more.

The cost includes the following:

  • (1) 10-page guide on the ins and outs of boudoir, including post processing information
  • Lunch
  • Adequate shooting time with each model
  • Model release for each, so that you may share the photos on your own site or Facebook page
  • Private Facebook page where you can ask me any and all questions you might have before and after the workshop
To Book: email catherinejeter@mac.com
Please Note: For the safety of all models involved, each potential workshop attendee will be screened.

joe + lorana | colorado wedding photographer

First of all, I need to thank Joe + Lorana for being so patient with me--I shot their wedding literally two days before my Bar prep class began, and they gave me permission to wait until my exam was over before I even began to edit. So they basically waited TWO MONTHS for their wedding photos--I am so thankful for their patience!

Second, they were so much fun to work with. Laid back, care free--all of the things you want in a bride and groom.

Third, they knew how to throw a good party. ;)

Congrats again, Joe + Lorana. Thank you for everything, and for allowing me to be a part of your special day!!
